AMED · EAST BALI
Plan a relaxed stay by the sea
Amed is a coastal area in East Bali known for its fishing villages, beach scenery, snorkelling and diving. SALT Resort & Spa is a small independent hotel right on the beach in central Amed village. Catch a beachfront sunrise, enjoy ocean views around the property and look back towards Mount Agung on clear days, with local community life close by.
Start by choosing a room for your group, then arrange your arrival and leave enough flexibility for the weather and local conditions. This guide brings together the practical questions our website can answer before you travel.

What can you do in Amed?
Snorkelling and diving are central to many Amed visits. Jemeluk Bay and Lipah Beach are established places to explore the marine environment. The Indonesian tourism board also highlights local village life, fishing boats and coastal food as part of the area’s appeal. Choose activities to suit your group and ask a local operator about conditions before heading onto the water. SALT offers bike rentals and snorkel mask and fin rentals, and our team can help arrange local tours, activities, drivers and transport.
SALT also makes a full day at the hotel easy: a 17-metre pool, beach access, beachfront dining from breakfast through dinner, happy hour cocktails, regular live music and Salt Spa. Free Salty Monkeys Kids Club opens 8am–8pm and is staffed 10am–6pm. Outside visitors are welcome, with pool access included with a food or drink purchase.

Where should you stay?
SALT offers choices for different budgets and travel styles: budget rooms, selected sea-view rooms, a beachfront suite, family rooms and a studio apartment with a kitchen for longer stays. Couples, families, solo travellers and groups can use our room comparison guide to find the right layout. Visiting with children
Keep the plan manageable around your children’s routines. SALT offers family accommodation, a kids’ menu and an indoor play area. Baby cots can be requested free of charge. Confirm bedding and any babysitting arrangements in advance, and supervise children around the beach and pool. Our Amed with children guide covers the details.
Getting here and travelling onwards
